Sweet Birthday Wishes using Digital Stamps | The Paper Shelter

Updated: Aug 8

Hello crafty friends,

If you love digital stamps, this blog post is definitely for you. I have a super sparkly birthday cake as we celebrate 15 years of cupcakes and sweetness at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. We are celebrating our 600th challenge. This will be a month long challenge with tons of project inspirations and sponsors and lots of prizes.

Today I am sharing a fun birthday card using the big birthday cake digital stamp by The Paper Shelter who are one of the sponsors for our challenge this for this entire month. This image is called A Curious Cake and is this beautiful multi-layered cake. So Yum!!

I first printed out this picture and then cut it using my Brother Scan n Cut Machine. Even with stamped images, I like to die cut the images before I color them, just to make sure I don't mess up with during the cutting process.

I then colored the images using my Tri-Blend Markers. I added some Glossy Accent and white glitter powder over the frosting layers.

While the glossy accent dries, I planned to work on my background.

I wanted a very happy and colorful background for this birthday card. So I chose the Lovely Bloom Paper Pad by Pinkfresh Studios.

I wanted to add some colorful sparkle on the background, for which I used those tiny confetti stamps from the Life Is A Party Stamp Set by SSS. I stamped the confetti in a bunch of SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in a rainbow order.

For my sentiment, I stamped the "Sweet Birthday Wishes" from the SSS Sweet Days Stamp Set. I stamped the sentiment in Gold Embossing Powder on a Black Cardstock by Your Paper Insider.

Now that my background and sentiment strip is ready and the glossy accent has dried up, all I had to do was assemble all these components onto the card front.

I stuck the patterned paper panel onto the card front using some double sided tape. then using some foam tape, I popped up my birthday cake which is the focal point of our card. Next, I layered my sentiment strip onto the cake.

Now what's a birthday card without some some sparkle and bling. To embellish my card front, I added some Surprise Party Sequin by SSS around the focal point.

Here's a closer look at the card.

I love the cake image. Digital Stamps can be so much fun. The best part about these digital stamps is that you can resize them according to your choice.
