I have created a birthday card today with a technique that is so new to me. Instead of having a colorful focal point, I decided to keep my little unicorn simple black and white and instead added color and shine to my die cut sentiment.
I used this adorable unicorn and the little butterfly image from the It's Your Birthday Stamp Set by SSS and stamped it on to a white cardstock panel using VersaMark Ink. Since the VersaMark ink is a dye ink, it would be perfect for heat embossing. I did use the anti-static powder tool on my cardstock panel before stamping the image. I used the Tuxedo Black VersaMark along with a Black Embossing Powder by Ranger. This would give me a crisp black focal point.
Next I added some black watercolor splatters around the stamped image.
While the water color splatters were drying, I cut the happy birthday sentiment using the Happy Birthday Wafer Die again by SSS. I cut this sentiment 3 times using plaine white cardstock.
Since i chose not to color my focal point, I decided to add a hint of color on my sentiment instead. So I ink blended some pinks and purples on a white piece of cardstock and sprayed it with some Shimmer Spray for some sparkle. Then I cut out the happy birthday sentiment from this ink blended piece of cardstock.
I stacked the sentiments for some dimension and attached the panel onto a purple A2 size card base.

Oh how I ADORE!! I love that you didn't color in the image but instead used the sentiment for color. I am going to have to try this technique!
Always so fun seeing your cards teammate, love the color and the image very nicely done. Have a great afternoon. Hugs, L
