Hello friends,
Today I am celebrating 15 years of STAMPtember® with Simon Says Stamp. STAMPtember® is a month long event of stamping and crafting. This is my 3rd year being part of the Designer Family at SSS. I have a beautiful family with so many amazingly talented designers.
There's a lot of fun in store for you guys this month. During STAMPtember®, many of your favorite brands offer EXCLUSIVE limited-edition stamp sets that are ONLY available at SimonSaysStamp.com. There will be loads of fun events, surprises, inspirations and kits during this month too!
Let's talk a little about the first card that I created for this month long fun!
I wanted to have a very clean and simple look on my card front with a beautiful focal point that matched my sentiment.
I started by die cutting this gorgeous floral focal point. This is the new Elegant Blossom Branch Wafer Die. This is a metal die piece that would cut out all the components of the branch all at once. With this die, you can easily create stunning floral embellishments that add a touch of elegance to your cards, scrapbook layouts, and more.
I like to use some white cardstock to cut out the floral pieces. This way I get a chance to play with my inks too. I can choose to add any color to these die cut florals.
For my little flowers, I wanted to keep them very simple and light colored. I used the Pawsitively Saturated Inks in the shades of Lilac and Bubblegum.
To color my leaves I used Pine and Field inks and for the browns on my branch, I used a touch of the Mocha ink.
Initially i thought I would keep my background plain white, but later decided to add some pink on one corner of this panel. I used the same Bubblegum ink to blend on the lower right hand corner of this panel.
Now before I adhered the focal point, I decided to stamp my sentiment. I love the latest Lovely Stamp Set from the new STAMPtember® release. This set has some really beautiful sentiment that compliments the bold Lovely, just like I used for my card today.
I stamped the sentiment with a dark Versafine Onyx Black Ink.
I didn't want to add any bulk to my card, so I just adhered the focal point directly onto the panel using some liquid glue.
Here's a closer look at the card.
