Hello crafty friends,
I am so happy to tell you guys that I was recently accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program. I have forever been a fan Altenew, special when it comes to anything floral. I was so excited when I came across this program and had to instantly apply for it and to my surprise, in a couple of weeks I got an email stating that I have been accepted into the program.
This course has some really fun classes and inspirations. I will be creating cards showcasing all what I have learnt in these classes.
I will begin with my first card, which is inspired by Lydia Evans. She talks about some amazing techniques in All About Layering 3 class. The card I am sharing here features techniques that I learnt in my course.

I started with some my favorite layering floral stamps by Altenew. I have the Flowering Cistus Layering Stamp and the Build-a-Flower : Torch Ginger Layering Stamp Set.
These stamp sets have amazing floral arrangements. I wanted to go for a non-conventional color combination. Instead of my usual favorites pinks and yellows, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and chose blues.
I used the SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink Trio in the shade Royal, Cadette and Marine. For my leaves I used Pine, Sage and Aspen again from the Pawsitively Saturated Ink line.
I skipped the outline layer on these images, as I thought just the color gradient looked perfect!
I cut these stamped floral images and the leaves using coordinating dies - Flowering Cistus Layering Die and the Build-a-Flower : Torch Ginger Layering Die.
Before I assembled the die cut images onto the card front, I decided to add some texture onto the card front. I used the Diamond Stars 3D Embossing Folder by Altenew. This 3D embossing folder features a beautiful geometric design of 6 pointed stars created from triangles. It was very easy to line up on the paper.
Before running the paper and the embossing folder sandwich through my die cutting machine, I always like to spray my cardstock panel with a mist of water. This makes sure the paper doesn't crack with all the pressure and I get a smooth finish on my texture/embossed pattern.
Here's a closer look at that beautiful embossed pattern.
Now that my embossing panel and the die cut pieces are ready, we can assemble this onto an a2 size card base.
I like a lot of dimension on my card, so I stuck the embossed panel onto the card base using some foam tape. I also popped up 2 of the smaller flowers using some small foam squares.
Once I was satisfied with my floral focal point, I stamped a little sentiment - "Wishing you a beautiful day" from the Build-a-Garden : Nature's Magic Stamp Set.
Before adding my sentiment strip, I wanted to add some splatter on my card front. I used some gold and black watercolor splatters to add shine on my card. I then adhered the sentiment strip again using some thin strips of foam tape.
Just as a final hint of sparkle, I used the Gold Coutour Dots by Stamperia on the centers of the flowers and a few around the floral arrangements.
Here's a look at the finished card.
I love how this card turned out. I am so happy I chose the color blue. The shades of blues on my flower is more beautiful in real life!
I hope this inspires you to create something similar using your layering stamps.
Also, a big thank you to the creators at Altenew for all the wonderful classes and tips and tricks to create beautiful projects.
